Introduction
Many students who go through the secondary school educational system find themselves unprepared for the academic demands of college. Although some students possess the required language skills to enter college, they often lack the required competencies to succeed in a college environment. Consequently, bridging this gap at the earliest stage possible must be a priority for forward-looking students. Prince Mohammad Bin Fahad University (PMU) is committed to providing opportunities to bridge this gap by facilitating a successful transition from high school to college.
What Is the College Bridging Program?
PMU’s College Bridging Program is designed to meet the skills development needs of high school students to be successful academically, professionally, and as a responsible global citizen in the future. The Bridging Program consists of two streams, the Beginner Stream and the Advanced Stream.
The Beginner Stream is designed for students who are basic users of the English language and includes the following courses:
- College English Reading & Writing
- College English Listening & Speaking
- Study Skills
- Mathematics - Intermediate Algebra
The Advanced Stream is designed for students who are independent/proficient users of the English language and includes the following courses:
- IELTS / TOEFL Preparation
- Oral Communication
- Written Communication
- SAT Preparation
- Study Skills
- Mathematics (Intermediate Algebra / Pre-Calculus)

The objectives of the College Bridging Program are to

- Assist students to successfully transition from high school to college
How Do I Benefit From the Program?
PMU’s College Bridging Program benefits students by:
- Providing early readiness for college admission
- Shortening students’ academic journey
- Offering College Credit Transfers (in case the students decide to join PMU)
- Preparing students for International Standardized Tests (e.g., Math & English)
- Presenting a Certificate of Completion from PMU
- Affording on-site academic Career Counseling/Advising
Admission Criteria
To enroll in PMU’s College Bridging Program the student must have
- an average score of 80% or above in his/her previous academic year
- a good character
- a minimum attendance of 90% during the academic year
- an A2 CEFR level on the English Proficiency Test for the Beginner stream
- a B1 or above CEFR level on the English Proficiency Test for the Advanced stream
How Do I Enroll in the Program?
- Application forms and the list of required documents can be accessed from PMU’s website: csbd.pmu.edu.sa
- Completed forms need to be submitted to your Home Room teacher
- Eligible candidates will go through an English Proficiency Test and interview (conducted by PMU)
