Course/Workshop Title: Beginning Spanish 1: Meeting and Greeting
Course/Workshop Description: Learn how to greet people, talk about where you live, and what you do (first of six Spanish for beginners program).
Course/Workshop Duration: 16 hours (twice a week, two hours each class)
Course/Workshop Objectives: Greet people and introduce yourself and others; talk about where you live and where you come from; talk about what you do; talk about the languages you speak; ask for clarification or repetition when you don't understand.
Course/Workshop Learning Outcomes/Competencies: Develop skills in basic Spanish for interacting in common communicative situations; apply the language introduced in order to greet people, talk about where you live and what you do; engage in simple communication in Spanish; apply the language introduced to talk about the languages you speak, and ask for clarification or repetition when you don't understand.
Who should attend the course? People with no prior knowledge of Spanish who want to know the basics and find out the Spanish-speaking world.
