    Electrical Engineering

Dr. Khodja is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, USA; an M.S. degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia; and a B.S. degree from the University of Constantine, Algeria.

Dr. Khodja's academic and professional journey is characterized by a dedication to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. Before joining PMU, he served as a faculty member at KFUPM, where he co-founded and led the Computational Rock Physics Laboratory for six years, and taught courses in electrical engineering and physics. He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Mathematics and Modeling Department at Schlumberger-Doll Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, where he co-developed a Bayesian methodology for designing large geophysical experiments to optimize model-parameter resolution for advanced imaging applications. His Ph.D. research focused on the theoretical and numerical aspects of optimal electromagnetic radiation from metamaterial sources, while his M.S. thesis investigated theoretical tests of the Standard Model of elementary particles. Dr. Khodja’s work has resulted in several peer-reviewed publications and U.S. patents. His honors include a Recognition of Scientific Patent from KFUPM and a Dissertation Writing Fellowship from Northeastern University. His current research interests include the design and modeling of metamaterial and magnetodielectric-enhanced antennas for crosswell and borehole imaging, metamaterials for quantum vacuum engineering, transformation-based analog gravity devices, and Casimir force modulation in engineered media.

As an educator, Dr. Khodja is passionate about inspiring his students, fostering their curiosity, and equipping them with a solid foundation of knowledge. Through innovative teaching and impactful research, he aims to contribute to preparing a generation of leaders in science and engineering who will drive the advancement of Saudi Arabia, the region, and the world.
