Dr. Kamran Ali Memon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at PMU, Saudi Arabia, with over 15 years of experience in academia and research. He holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Science and Technology from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China, and has previously worked in various academic and research positions, including a postdoctoral fellowship at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
Dr. Memon specializes in next-generation optical networks, including Passive Optical Networks (PONs), hybrid RF/FSO communication systems, and smart photonic sensing. His research focuses on optimizing network flexibility and scalability in multi-tenant environments and investigating IoT-based monitoring and automation systems. He has published over 75 peer-reviewed papers and holds several patents, contributing significantly to advancing communication technologies.
Dr. Memon is also dedicated to teaching and mentoring students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He actively participates in curriculum development and ABET accreditation processes, aiming to integrate research and teaching to help shape the next generation of engineers. Through his work, he contributes to the technological growth of Saudi Arabia in alignment with its strategic development goals.
