English for Secretaries

Course/Workshop Title: English for Secretaries
Course/Workshop Description English for Secretaries prepares participants for administrative support positions such as secretary, executive secretary, administrative assistant, and executive assistant. Participants take courses in communication skills, writing skills, office practice, and administrative procedures, time management skills, and keyboarding. The participants will also work with colleagues as part of a team, a dynamic that may reflect their future work environment.
Course/Workshop Duration: 4 weeks, 4 hours a day
Course/Workshop Objectives:
  1. Prepare participants to work effectively in an office setting
  2. Equip participants with oral and written communication skills 
  3. Gain technological skills used in a professional environment
Course/Workshop Learning Outcomes/Competencies:
  1. Edit and write business letters, meeting minutes, memos and email communication
  2. Effectively use leading business software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases to create business documents
  3. Execute office procedures such as reception, mail processing, email communication, calendaring, telephone communication, operating office equipment, task management and meeting participation
  4. Use interpersonal communications in the workplace
